In order to combat with the rising vegetable prices, Tamil Nadu Government has come up with an innovative plan. It has planned to distribute free “do-it-yourself” kits of roof garden to all residents so that they can pluck fresh vegetables from their own gardens. This plan is initially to be introduced in Chennai and Coimbatore cities.
The horticulture department of Tamil Nadu will distribute the roof top garden kit that contains 20 UV sterilized polyethylene bags of 200 micron thickness, coir pith and manure for 15kg, seeds for vegetables and greens along with organic fertilizer, instruments, and a 20sqm polyethylene sheet

Andhra Pradesh (United AP) started this kind of horticulture in the Name of “Manapanta” distributed some useful kits to People of Hyderabad.The Government has also organised workshops to bring awareness among people and they planned to distribute nearly 700 kits to people with some subsides. All Went good upto this point but after this govt or the media left this matter BUT NOT THE PEOPLE. Because this technique was very good in all points of view.
